I believe that there is energy in names. I was planning a series of shorts about normal people with really bizarre jobs. Lang -- an amazing performer who I'd known in college -- kept coming to mind, and I'd been talking her up repeatedly in pre-production conversations. Sure enough, a few months before we were ready to shoot, we found each other in the way people sometimes do in New York. By one of those mistakes that arent mistakes at all. |

I'd been wanting to work with Kwame for years, too, but it took some convincing because he doesn't consider himself an actor. I don't happen to think you have to be an "actor" to give a great performance. I loved the chemistry between these two personalities on screen. They met for the first time the morning of the shoot, and after we walked through the "script" they came off as if they had known each other for years. |
